Last weekend Castlefest was GREAT! Of all the fairs I think this is my favourite. Nice surroundings (estate with a castle), big enough for lots of stands, peoples and costumes but small enough not to get swamped (One mayor drawback of the biggest Fair, the Elf Fantasy Fair). And Castlefest has great music and shows. This year I took some time to watch them and it was fun. And yes, even in crowd you can make nice shots...
I even bumped in the German lady performer from Las Fuegas. Last year they needed a volunteer from the public to stand on the poor girl while she was laying down on a bed of nails! I got voluntered that time... Well, she survived and she said I look a lot thinner now...
Well, what's to say? Met up with lots of friends, exchanged presents (books mainly), ate good food, replenished my stock of meade, got to see great costumes and had a wonderfull time. There will be a handfull of smaller fairs which I may or may not visit, depending on money and energy. The next one I really look forward to is the Midwinterfair in the Archeon, but that's still some time away...
